PCT Basics

Post-cycle therapy is how you help your body restart its own testosterone production after a cycle. Skipping it is not an option unless you are on TRT or blasting and cruising.

The common SERMs

Nolvadex (Tamoxifen): The most widely used PCT drug. Typical protocol: 20mg per day for 4 to 6 weeks. Stimulates LH and FSH release from the pituitary.

Clomid (Clomiphene): An alternative to Nolvadex. Typical protocol: 25 to 50mg per day for 4 to 6 weeks. Some users report more mood-related side effects with Clomid compared to Nolvadex.

You do not need to run both. Pick one. Most experienced users lean toward Nolvadex for its milder side effect profile.

Timing
When you start PCT depends on the ester you used:

Short esters (Propionate, Acetate): start PCT 3 to 5 days after your last injection

Medium esters (Enanthate, Cypionate): start PCT 14 to 18 days after your last injection

Long esters (Undecanoate, Decanoate): start PCT 21 to 28 days after your last injection

The idea is to let the exogenous hormone clear your system before you start stimulating natural production. Starting too early means the SERM competes with the remaining exogenous testosterone. Starting too late means you spend extra time in a suppressed state.

What recovery looks like
Energy and mood often dip in the first two weeks of PCT. Libido may drop. Strength in the gym may stall or decrease slightly. This is normal. Your body is recalibrating. It gets better. By week 4 to 6, most users feel close to baseline.

Post-PCT bloodwork
Get bloods 4 to 6 weeks after finishing PCT to confirm recovery. Compare LH, FSH, total testosterone and free testosterone to your pre-cycle baseline. If values are still significantly suppressed, consult a doctor.
If you have never used AAS before, this is the guide to read before you do anything else. A first cycle should be simple, controlled and well-documented.

Testosterone only
Your first cycle should be testosterone and nothing else. No stacking, no orals alongside, no "just a little Deca." The reason is straightforward: if you run one compound, you know exactly what is causing any effect or side effect you experience. If you stack three compounds your first time, you learn nothing about how your body responds to any of them individually.

Dose and duration
Testosterone Enanthate or Cypionate at 300 to 500mg per week for 12 to 16 weeks is the standard recommendation. Pin twice per week to keep blood levels stable. There is no benefit to going higher on a first cycle. Your receptors are fresh. You will grow.

Ancillaries on hand
Have an aromatase inhibitor (Anastrozole or Aromasin) ready before you start. You may not need it, but if estrogen-related sides appear (bloating, sensitive nipples, mood swings), you want to be able to act immediately. Do not run an AI preemptively. Use it only if sides present.

Bloodwork
Get bloodwork done before you start. This gives you a baseline to compare everything against. Test at minimum: total testosterone, free testosterone, estradiol (sensitive assay), LH, FSH, liver enzymes (ALT, AST), lipids (HDL, LDL, triglycerides), CBC with hematocrit. Get mid-cycle bloods around week 6 to 8 to check where your levels are.

PCT

Nutrition Fundamentals for Lifters

Training is the stimulus. Food is the raw material. Without the second part dialed in, the first part does not produce what it should. This is especially true when running a cycle, because your body's capacity to use nutrients is amplified.

Protein
The research is clear enough: 1.6 to 2.2 grams per kilogram of body weight per day covers most lifters. On cycle, erring toward the higher end makes sense because protein synthesis is elevated. Spread it across 4 to 5 meals. Hitting your daily target matters more than meal timing, but spacing it out helps.

Calories
Bulking: a surplus of 300 to 500 calories above maintenance. Going higher just adds fat faster without meaningfully increasing muscle gain. Cutting: a deficit of 400 to 600 calories. Aggressive cuts risk muscle loss and feel miserable, especially on a calorie-restricted PCT.

Carbohydrates
Fuel for training. If your sessions suffer, you probably need more carbs, not more pre-workout. Prioritize complex sources around training and do not fear fruit.

Fats
Essential for hormone production, which matters even more when your endocrine system is under external influence. Do not drop below 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight. Olive oil, nuts, fatty fish and eggs are your staples.

Hydration
AAS can increase hematocrit and blood viscosity. Drink more water than you think you need. Three to four liters per day is a reasonable baseline for a large, active person. More if you sweat heavily.

Meal prep reality
You do not need exotic food. Rice, chicken, ground beef, eggs, oats, vegetables and a protein shake cover 90% of what most lifters need. Consistency beats variety every single day.

Why convert
Bitcoin is traceable. Every transaction lives on a public blockchain forever. Monero hides the sender, receiver and amount by default. Converting BTC to XMR before making a payment adds a layer of privacy that Bitcoin alone does not provide.
Lab testing is the most objective way to evaluate a product. If you have access to testing, or if you are reading someone else's results, here is what to look for.

What a quantitative test shows
A quant test measures the actual concentration of the active compound in a sample. The result tells you whether the product contains what the label says, and at what dose. Some labs also screen for contaminants or unexpected compounds. A test might show trace amounts of another steroid, which could mean shared equipment in production or actual product substitution. Either way, it matters.

New to Roidboard? Drop a post here and let people know who you are.

You do not have to share anything you are not comfortable with. But a short intro helps the community get a sense of who is around. Here are some things you might mention:

How long you have been training

Your experience with AAS, peptides or SARMs (if any)

Roughly where in Scandinavia you are based

What brought you here

What your current goals are

Keep it casual. There is no template. Some people write two sentences, some write two paragraphs. Both are fine.

One thing: read the board rules before you post anywhere else. It saves you from stepping on something by accident.

Looking forward to seeing who shows up.
