How to Pay for VIP or Donator with Litecoin
You can buy VIP or Donator right here on the site with Litecoin or Bitcoin. Every invoice gets its own address, and the role is added to your account automatically once the network confirms your payment, so there is no waiting for staff. The steps below use Litecoin because it has the lowest fees. Bitcoin works the same way, and the differences are further down.
Prices
- Donator: $5 a month, $20 a year or $50 lifetime
- VIP: $10 a month, $50 a year or $125 lifetime
Before you start: get some Litecoin
You need Litecoin in a wallet you can send from. Buy it on an exchange and withdraw it to your own wallet, as explained in Crypto Basics for Buyers, and keep your seed phrase safe as described in Wallet Safety. Get a little more than the price so the network fee is covered too, and choose the Litecoin network when you withdraw.
We recommend paying from your own wallet. If you pay straight from an exchange, check whether it takes its fee out of the amount you send. More on that below.
Step by step
- Log in and open the plans page. It is also the Upgrade link in the menu at the top.
- Pick the period at the top of the page: Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime. Yearly is selected when the page opens.
- Press Buy now under Donator or VIP. If you already have Donator, the VIP button says Upgrade. If your plan is still running, it says Renew.
- On the checkout page, check your order: the plan, the period and the total. You can still switch the period here. Under "Pay with", make sure Litecoin (LTC) is selected.
- Press Continue to payment. You get an invoice with your own Litecoin address and the exact amount to send. The price is locked for 30 minutes, and a timer shows how much time is left.
- Send the payment. Scan the QR code with your wallet app, press Open in wallet if the wallet is on the same device, or use the Copy buttons for the amount and the address. After pasting, check the first and last characters of the address before you send.
- Wait. The invoice page updates by itself. It shows "Payment seen" as soon as your transaction shows up on the network, and then counts the confirmations.
- Done. Litecoin needs 3 confirmations, which takes about 8 minutes, and most payments are finished within 15 minutes. The role is then added to your account, and you get an alert and a receipt.
Getting the amount right
- Send exactly the amount on the invoice, in one payment. Your wallet adds the network fee on top, and that is normal.
- Some exchanges take their fee out of the amount you send. If less arrives, the invoice shows what is missing, and you send the rest to the same address. A shortfall of 1% or less counts as paid anyway.
- Send only Litecoin, on the Litecoin network, and only to the address on your current invoice. An address from an old or cancelled invoice can later be given to someone else's invoice, so never send to it again.
If the timer runs out
If you already sent the payment and it arrives within 24 hours of the end of the price lock, it still counts at the locked price, as long as the amount is right. If you have not sent anything yet, start a new checkout at the current price.
Changing your mind
As long as you have not sent anything, you can press Cancel invoice at the bottom of the invoice. Never send anything to an invoice you cancelled. To pay with Bitcoin instead, cancel the invoice and start a new checkout.
Paying with Bitcoin
It works the same way: choose Bitcoin (BTC) on the checkout page instead of Litecoin. Bitcoin needs 1 confirmation, which usually takes about 10 minutes. Bitcoin network fees can be high on small payments, so for the monthly plans Litecoin is usually the cheaper choice.
Gifts, upgrades and renewals
- Gift: press Gift on the plans page, pick the member and add a short message if you like. You can also send it anonymously, so they do not see your name (staff still can). They get the role and an alert, plus a private message with your note if they accept private messages. You get the receipt. If they already have the plan, the time is added to theirs.
- Upgrade: if you have Donator and choose VIP, the time left on your Donator plan counts towards the price, and the checkout shows the credit before you pay. Your Donator time then ends when VIP starts. With lifetime Donator, monthly and yearly VIP cost the full price and you keep your lifetime Donator.
- Renew: the new period is added to your current end date, so renewing early never costs you any days. You also get a reminder 7 days before your plan ends.
Your Membership page
The Membership page in your User CP shows your plan and when it ends, your open invoices and all your receipts. You can renew or upgrade from there as well.
Something went wrong?
Crypto payments cannot be reversed automatically, but staff can sort out almost anything. Send a private message to an administrator on the Forum Team page, or use Contact Us, and include your invoice number. You find it at the top of the invoice and on your receipt.
One last thing: staff will never ask you to pay to an address in a private message, on Telegram or anywhere else. The only correct address is the one on your own invoice on roidboard.to.
