Safe Trading Checklist

Most trades on Roidboard go fine. The ones that go wrong usually skipped one of the steps below. Run through this list every time you buy or sell, and especially with someone new.

Before you agree on anything
  • Check the Scam Register. Type the exact username under Check a member in the Scam Register. An amber Deal with caution plate means there is an open case. A red Confirmed scammer plate means stop.
  • Read their feedback thread. Members keep their own feedback threads in the feedback boards of each country. Sellers and vendors: Säljare, Selger, Sælger. Buyers: Köpare, Kjøper, Køber. Read the whole thread, not only the last page, and look at who left the feedback.
  • Look at the profile. Join date, posts, reputation, vendor tier and awards all tell you something. Earlier usernames are listed on the profile too.
  • Check the username letter by letter. Copycat accounts pick names that look almost the same as a known seller.
  • Start small. With someone you have not traded with before, do a small deal first and build from there.

While you deal
  • Keep the deal in PMs here. Agree on the product, the amount, the price, shipping and payment in writing. If something goes wrong, that conversation is your evidence.
  • Watch out for pressure. A price far below everyone else, a rush to pay right now or a sudden change of payment details are classic warning signs.
  • Pay with care. If you pay with crypto, read Crypto Basics for Buyers and Wallet Safety first. Save the transaction ID.
  • Keep personal details out of public threads. Addresses, phone numbers and payment details go in PMs only, never in a thread or the shoutbox.
  • Staff never ask for your password. Only log in on roidboard.to. More in Account Security.

After the deal
  • Leave feedback. Post in the other member's feedback thread, good or bad, and ask them to do the same for you. Honest feedback keeps the marketplace safe for everyone.
  • Mark your listing. Change the prefix to Sold or Closed when you are done. Marketplace Prefixes, Bumps and Reopening Threads explains how.

If it goes wrong
Talk to the other member first. If they stop answering, or it is clearly a scam, use Report a scam. Scam Register: How to Report and What Happens Next explains what to include.
